Manual of Style

This is the Manual of Style for the Surviving the Game as a Barbarian. The following article contains information set as the guidelines that are used to keep articles structured and organized in a consistent fashion.

Writing Style: This is an English language wiki and all edits are expected to be published using North American English with the exception of Korean content such as character name or something similar which are determined through the context of the series.

• Yonder translations are considered the official terms for this wiki. All abilities, character names, chapters, etc are to go by Yonder translations.
• Keep the tenses of articles/sections consistent.
• Sections of an article, including chapter summaries, should be written in present tense.
• Do not add information that you haven't confirmed is canon, and try to add references to information you add.

Character Page

• For character articles, with the exception of Synopsis sections:
  • Articles for characters who are alive as of where the webnovel is currently up to should be written in present tense.
  • Articles for characters who died in the webnovel but have not yet had their deaths adapted into the manhwa should be written in present tense to avoid spoilers, and then changed to past tense once their deaths have been adapted.
  • Articles for characters who were deceased before the story started, no matter if it's been shown in the manhwa yet, should be written in past tense.
  • Articles for characters who died in the manhwa should be written in past tense.
• All Synopsis sections should be written in present tense even if the character whose synopsis it is has died.
• History sections of character articles should be written in past tense.
• If the content of a section of a chapter or episode is a flashback to a previous story point, it should also be written in past tense.

Character Layout Guides: There are pre-established templates users can copy and paste on to new articles for the proper layout.

Image Policy for Character Thumbnail: All images should be kept in 3:4 proportion as much as possible.

• Appearance
  • Physical appearance comes first, followed by the character's outfit(s)
    • If the character has multiple noteworthy outfits/appearances, they are to be listed in the order they appear
  • Gallery
• Personality

(Appearance & Personality can be merged as Overview for minor characters)

• History (if applicable)
• Synopsis (if not already on a subpage)
• Abilities
  • This heading should be added even if a character has no special abilities; in such a case, simply specify that they do not possess any form of unnatural ability in this section
• Relationships (if applicable and not already on a subpage)
• Items (if applicable)
• Trivia (if applicable)
• References
  • Webnovel | Chapter XYZ: title
  • Webcomic | Episode XY

Chapter Page

Chapters should be named by their chapter number, not their title. A quick guide to help:

• Summary
• Characters in Order of Appearance
• Locations
• Items (Essence, Numbered item,etc)
• Trivia (if applicable)
• References (if applicable)

Spoiler Policy

Spoilers: Any piece of information that may potentially reveal plot elements that some people may wish to remain hidden so that they may enjoy the source material to its fullest extent, without having any previous knowledge of the outcome. For example, the death of a major character, new powers or an unexpected plot twist.

Until the chapter is released by a public official translation site, that chapter's information is considered to be a spoiler. Therefore, until the official Yonder translation is released, it is simply forbidden to add any information from it. This includes but is not limited to:

• Chapter titles
• Plot details
• Characters who appear in the chapter
